Sivan
On the Hebrew Calendar a day starts at
sundown and ends at sundown. This is why
the Holy Days start on the day before.  For
example Shabbat begins at sundown on
Friday, which is the beginning of the seventh
day.  We do this because in B'resheit we read
that the evening and the morning were the first
day.  The first day of the week is Yom Rishon
(first day), Sunday. The Hebrew month begins
with the new moon called, Rosh Chodesh.
When there is a leap year an extra month is
added after Adar and it is called Adar Sheni, or
Adar II.
