We believe in the Creator of heaven and
earth whose name is YHWH.  Hear O Israel,
YHWH our God, YHWH is One (Deut. 6:4).
The Father, The Son, and Ruach haKodesh
(Holy Spirit) are united in God (Is. 11:1-2, Lk.
4:18-21).

We believe in the Scriptures in their original
inspired text. They are the inspired and
inerrant Word of YHWH Almighty. They alone
are the divine and final authority in
determining all doctrinal truths (2 Tim. 3:16).
We believe that all, both Jew and Gentile must
recognize that Yeshua (Jesus) became our
atonement according to the plan of G-d.

"Surely He took up our infirmities and carried our
sorrows, yet we considered Him stricken by G-d,
smitten by Him and afflicted. But He was pierced
for our transgressions, He was crushed for our
iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace
was upon Him, and by his wounds we are healed.
We all like sheep have gone astray, each of us
has turned to his own way; and the L-rd has laid
on Him the iniquity of us all" (Isaiah 53:4-6).

"He sacrificed for their sins once for all when He
offered Himself" (Hebrews 7:27).
We believe that our sins have separated
us from G-d.  But your iniquities have
separated you from your G-d; your sins
have hidden His face from you, so that He
will not hear" (Isaiah 59:1-2).
We believe that all must recognize the
need for atonement through sacrifice.

"For the life of a creature is in the blood,
and I have given it to you to make
atonement for yourselves on the altar; IT IS
THE BLOOD THAT MAKES ATONEMENT
FOR ONE'S LIFE" (Leviticus 17:11).

Without the Beit HaMikdash, the Temple,
there can be no sacrifice. G-d commanded
that once the temple mount was designated
as the place of worship, all our sacrifices
were to be brought there. Yet G-d in His
mercy has not left us without atonement.
We believe that Yeshua of Nazareth is the
Messiah, God (YHWH) made manifest in the
flesh (1 Tim. 3:16). He was born of a virgin (Luke
1:34) and lived a sinless life. He died for us as a
pefect atoning sacrifice for our sins (1 John
4:10). He was resurrected from the dead (1 Cor.
15:4) and ascended to the right hand of the
Father (Mark 16:19). Yeshua will return
physically as King of Kings and Lord of Lords to
rule and reign over the earth (Zech. 14, Acts
1:9-11, and Rev. 19:11-16).
We believe that Ruach haKodesh indwells all
true believers to lead, guide, teach, comfort, and
empower us to live a righteous life
(Jn. 14:26, 2 Tim. 1:7, 1 Cor. 14:26).
We believe in the resurrection of both the
saved and unsaved. The redeemed to
everlasting joy in the presence of YHWH and
the lost to eternal damnation and separation
from YHWH (Jn. 5:28-29 and Rev. 20:11-15).
Jewish Culture and Faith in Messiah
Yeshua
By Tirzah
The term, "Jewish Culture" is a actually a rather broad term.  It can mean different
things to different people depending upon world view, nationality and personal creed.
In America, Jewish culture has been caricatured for years by Hollywood and the media.
Unfortunately, the perception of what is "Jewish" is clouded by all too prevalent
stereotypes.

My step-father, who was born in Jerusalem, Israel and raised for most of his life in the
United States knows fewer Yiddish words than I do.   Not all Jewish folks are from New
York, or Miami and the two oldest, and still active, Rabbinic Synagogues are located in
Rhode Island (Orthodox)and Georgia(Reform) respectively.

Those that call themselves "Messianic" Jews do so with much misunderstanding these
days from within and without; and with good reason.  The arguments about what/who is
"Jewish" are too numerous to get into here.  Some say that only "Jews" get to define
who is a Jew and incorporate Jewish culture in their worship.  However, even that
statement is arguable.  Which "Jews" get to decide this?  There really isn't much of a
consensus either within the State of Israel or in Judaism.  In fact, the only consensus
within all branches of Judaism regarding the issue is their solidarity in the disdain of
any person born of Jewish parents who calls him/herself a Jew yet believes Yeshua is
Messiah.  There are understandable reasons for this; however history tells us Yeshua
and his twelve disciples were all Torah observant Jews.  Christianity, as it has evolved
over the centuries, is as far removed from the faith practiced by those early believers in
Yeshua as Judaism is removed from second Temple worship before 70 BCE.

Both Judaism and Christianity claim to be Biblically based faiths.  The fact is that both
religions are ensconced in cultural practices related to worship and faith that are not
found in the scriptures.  First century Jews didn't make challah bread, spin dreidles or
sing Lecha Dodi on the Sabbath.  First century believers in Yeshua didn't put up
Christmas trees or hide Easter eggs.   However, the making of Challah, spinning
dreidles and singing the Lecha Dodi does not change the focus of the Sabbath, or
promote a false view of the faith the Yeshua and the disciples preached.  On the other
hand Christianity's myriad of practices and celebrations at the least, obscure the truth
concerning the Jewish Messiah.  Most Christians are not aware that Jesus was not born
on December 25th, that He did not celebrate Easter, and all of the first disciples were
Jews.  It shouldn't be surprising that Messianics prefer to embrace cultural practices
that do not detract from the Truth of scripture.

Sadly, Christianity at large would prefer to keep the status quo and adhere to the
comfort of hundreds of years of ignorance.  We know that as a group, no matter what
"denomination" or lack thereof we embrace, we are sick, wayward, ill, inundated with
false teachers and false doctrines.  Yet, we continue to ignore the warning of
Revelation Chapter 2.  We're too hard headed to take the Biblical instruction "to get
back to our first love."  We're so westernized in our thinking that we don't even
understand what that means.  When we use the term first love, we equate this to some
emotional response, or fervor we may have experienced when we were born again.
This is not the meaning of the text.  We have fallen from a place, a position if you will
and it has eroded the foundation laid by the builder, who is Yeshua Himself.
